Wraparound Care
Breakfast Club
Mondays to Fridays 8:00am to 8:45 am we have our Breakfast Club. As everyone knows Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we know how difficult it can be sometimes to encourage children to eat a nutritious meal first thing in the morning. Our Breakfast Club can help you with this – breakfast will be cooked and served from our own kitchen every day during term time.
There is an excellent mouth-watering choice at good value prices, including toast, yoghurts, crumpets and cereal. Breakfast is on a self-serve pay as you go basis – children must have the money with them, no money can be brought in later. During our club, games are played and we encourage children to eat good breakfast in happy surroundings and then be ready and alert for the start of the school day.
Dove After School Club
Here at Dovecotes Primary School we provide an After School Club for parents/carers with children in reception up to year 6 called ‘The Dove Club’. The After School Club is open every school day: Monday to Friday 3.15pm – 4.30pm and has 20 places per day available.
Fees
All fees must be paid in advance on a weekly or monthly basis. Session from 3.15pm – 4.30pm : £3.50 Miss Booles, the club coordinator, deals with the administration and fees will need to be paid into the school office in advance. Please contact Miss Booles should you need to make changes to the sessions that you require, such as extra sessions.
How our After School Club works
The emphasis is on play and leisure rather than education, however, there will be an opportunity to take part in organised activities and there will also be an opportunity to look at homework and reading too.
Snacks and Drinks
Drinks will be provided by the After School Club. However, snacks will need to be provided by parents/carers (due to allergies etc) if you would like your child to have one.
Activities
There are a wide range of activities for your child to access at the After School Club. There are a selection of puzzles and board games and different craft activities. There is also an opportunity for the children to play outside on the playground or in the meadow. We will provide a variety of sports equipment to promote physical development.
Collection Procedure
Children will be collected by a member of the After School Club staff and taken to Little Doves at the end of the school day.
Each child will must be collected from the club by a parent or a person that is authorised by the parent/carer on the registration form. If someone else comes to collect the child, parents MUST send in written permission in advance otherwise the child will not be allowed to leave with them.
The signing out register must be signed when a child is collected from the club. All children must be collected by 4.30pm. If a child is not picked up by 4.30pm a fee will be added to your main fee. Collection will be from the KS1 hall. If a child is booked into a session and fails to arrive, checks will be made to locate where the child is.
